چکیده

Various methods for controlling manufacturing systems have been proposed, but until now the problem could not be considered as being solved. This may be due to the lack of a sound mathematical foundation. Therefore, an algebraic modelling method to describe manufacturing systems is developed. The result of this system modelling is a state equation which can be used for the design of closed loop feedback control systems. This paper is structured as follows: As an introduction, the need for this new modelling approach is justified. Next, the manufacturing algebra and the equation for factory dynamics are described. An example serves to illustrate the theoretical considerations. Finally, the structure of the HIMAC simulation test bed is presented. It implements the theoretical model and facilitates the execution of various test cases.

Optimal and Hierarchical Controls in Dynamic Stochastic Manufacturing Systems: A Survey

Most manufacturing systems are large and complex and operate in an uncertain environment. One approach to managing such systems is that of hierarchical decomposition. This paper reviews the research devoted to proving that a hierarchy based on the frequencies of occurrence of different types of events in the systems results in decisions that are asymptotically optimal as the rates of some event...

On the receding horizon hierarchical optimal control of manufacturing systems

This paper concerns the development of a hierarchical framework for the integrated planning and scheduling of a class of manufacturing systems. In this framework, dynamic optimization plays an important role in order to de®ne control strategies that, by taking into account the dynamic nature of these systems, minimize customized cost functionals subject to state and control constraints. The pro...

This paper, considers Network Failure Manufacturing System (NFPMS) and production control policy of unreliable multi-machines, multi-products with perishable items. The production control policy is based on the Hedging Point Policy (HPP). The important point in the simulation of this system is assumed that the customers who receive perishable item are placed in priority queue of the customers w...
